Why, oh why, couldn't this have been longer. This hits on all the right notes for me: it's a tearjerker, it's instrumentally well executed, it's got variety, it's haunting, it's well produced. If their next full-length is on this caliber, it'll easily be AOTY material for whatever year it is

While always bringing a dense atmosphere, Kardashev decides to take a slightly lighter tone with The Baring of Shadows. And though it starts slow, transitions into a chug-fest that we know from the band. While it doesn't seem to hit as successfully hard as Almanac did, there is still something here for a fan and I want to see what comes for the future.
