Review Summary: An album that represents the energy of a first LP and what it is to be passionate by making original music.

First off, this is my first review and english isn't my first language so...

I'm doing this review to, at least try, to make people discover this fantastic band. Surprisingly, I think that you might want to start by their 2nd and 3rd album to understand this one better and feel what I feel when I listen to it. Also, even tough it's french, the lyrics are not necessary to appreciate the music as the voice and language are frequently used as music instruments instead of a direct way to communicate...

Well then, what is so marvelous about this album?

The introduction is a great way to start the album, it just makes you dive in their musical world quickly, there's pratically no progression it just gets you right into it, it's nearl from being "agressive" even if it's necessary for the album's sake, "La maladie" comes to complete the first song and it perfectly takes over.

The transition between the introduction and the "robot sexy" is done kind as if we were on "shuffle", but don't forget this is a first LP and the album keeps on having some "hit and miss" like this one, it's far from perfect, but from these errors you find yourself to be "shaken" by the album and it forces you to pay attention, it gives it a "feeling", the one that makes me like the first cd of some bands a lot...

The album also has a really particular sound that is somwhere between (in a triangle) some grundge/punk/alternative sound, and it really feels good to my ears

This might not be a really exhaustive review, and it doesn't "read like a 5", but I just don't have enough words (I don't have the time neither (college sucks)) in my vocabulary (espeacially in english) to express what I feel about every song and the entire album. I'll finish by saying two things: my definition of a 5 is "what gives me shivers down my neck every time" and GO LISTEN TO TROMPE L'OEIL NOW IF YOU DON'T THIS BAND.

I prefer Le Compte Complet rather than Labyrinthes (which I find very monotonous, but maybe I haven't listened to this one enough times). It's a perfect introduction to Trompe l'Oeil (a big classic that I highly recommend) with songs like Le Metronome and Le bataillon...
