2.0 poor | Gary STAFF | February 12th 20 | Very uninteresting folk album about pirates, and basically that's all. The dialoges and "field recordings" are super awkward - I get it they wanted to make this sound cinematic, but it felt more of a bad joke than something I'd want to dig. But the album itself is not horrible or anything, just very uninteresting - something what anyone could record by hiring a few drunken guys from an Irish pub. In my opinion, an album should stand well on its own without any visuals - but in this case it was an epic fail... maybe it would make a decent soundtrack for a pirate movie, but otherwise just: nah.

3.5 great | Sevengill | November 29th 22 | Mixed bag, but "Capstan Shanty" is one of the best sea songs I've ever heard.

3.0 good | chilledpunkrock | February 26th 20 | The Current 93 fan in me loves how theatrical and over the top these guys are with their maritime folk music, but I can't pretend like this doesn't also sound incredibly silly and not really in a good way. It appeals to someone I'm sure but this just makes me giggle every time I hear it.
