Review Summary: Indie-pop goodness that will most certainly grab one's ears.

Lemuria's album, Get Better, is a perfect example of how less can be more.
Lemuria is an indie-pop trio out of Buffalo, New York that has been active since 2004. Although they have released multiple songs on EPs, and a prominent compilation, Get Better is Lemuria's first proper full-length album, released on Asian Man Records. And what a debut it is.
Lemuria has released an album filled with little bits of glorious pop music that is infectious, fresh, and appealing. Album opener "Pants" has the makings of a classic song with clever lyrics, emotive singing from guitarist Sheena Fossella, and honesty found in bands like Weezer.
Then comes the next song, "Yesterday's Lunch," which brings in Lemuria's dual vocal element into the picture. Drummer Alexander Kerns sings with a monotone that sharply contrasts Ozzella's beautiful voice. These two come together to form a wonderful mixture that brings the listener in even further into Lemuria's spell.
The songs on Get Better are so good that they seem to end much too quickly. However, their songs are quite short. With the longest clocking in at just over three minutes, they’re gone rather quickly, but this suits the band's simple style so well, it creates an even more enjoyable listen that demands multiple listenings.
The band's simple musical structure is complemented effectively by their lyrics that describe everyday occurrences.
"Lipstick" tackles the topic of morning breath, while "Length Away" is a sad tune about physical barriers separating a loved one.
Lemuria can appeal to lots of different listeners, from fans of today's indie pop and rock music, to fans of more popular acts like Paramore, to fans of alternative rock bands of the early and mid-nineties.
Ultimately, these elements come together to create a superb piece of indie-pop, and a piece of music that will almost certainly become a fantastic addition to nearly anyone's collection.

Just in case anyone else ever reads this review, I wrote it for my school newspaper, so I had to keep it rather...condensed.

And have it appeal somewhat to the uninformed at my school. :/This Message Edited On 02.01.09

Nice review although the wording is a little rough in places. Considering it's your first review I POS'd (which you'll be happy about if you ever become active again).

Hope I like this as much as Pebble which I love.
