4.0 excellent | AmbushReality | July 5th 19 | Actually, genuinely really solid. The last few releases have been incredibly forgettable to the point where it seemed MGK would never achieve the potential for greatness he once displayed. *Hotel Diablo* is easily his most creative and compelling work, and it shows he might not have wasted that potential afterall. The lyrics are fantastic and introspective, and the musicianship is cohesive, making this *feel like an album,* not just a collection of random song ideas (as the last several projects have). MGK is back, and this album is actually good.

2.0 poor | XSebbyMcMuffinX | April 7th 22 | Hmm, ok... I hadn't heard anything by MGK that validated his popularity, based on his earlier and newer shit. This album at least makes it make sense. Production and vocals go well together. Coherent album. Got vibes. Vocals are at least trying to be serious, even if this dude can only go so far with his introspection without bouncing straight back to surface-level appeals. This is the better version of a rapper I instinctually want to push to the background in my head. EDIT: Yeah, I'm never listening to this overblown plastic product again.

2.5 average | matbla00 | July 20th 20 | Is this the pop punk of 2020s? I am not sure, I am not even sure if I like it, but I do not hate it - and Travis Barker made the right choice for collab.

3.0 good | Doublez38 | July 24th 19 | El Diablo is an intelligent album in its conception that follows a rather interesting theme that make sense. His beef with Eminem did him a lot of artistic and commercial good, it even gave him a boost to his career. it's been a long time since i've listened to such a solid MGK album. Tracks like Floor 13, Candy or even I Think I?m OKAY are the pillars of the project. Of Course it's MGK, so we're not facing a musical revolution, but only (and sometimes that's enough) has a "sympathic" album.
