A pretty seamless journey through abstract glitchy hip hop collaged tunes, A Quiet Farewell is the kind of album offering a unique experience with individual pieces that wouldn't work if listened to alone.

This album is nearly flawless. Rarely do you find niche experimental albums (like Tame Impala for example) with such quality and with insane replay value like A quiet farewell. Slauson Malone's ear for soulful samples and the way he treats them to create something entirely different will never cease to amaze me. Few albums manage to capture the unease that this albums make me feel. It's not one I would go back to often, but when I do, I'm sure I'd love it everytime.

It took seven months for me to finally come around on this, but I'm glad it did. This is some truly otherworldly and beautiful beat music that establishes a mood like nothing else.

Slauson Malone's music is captivating. A Quiet Farwall, Twenty Sixteen to Tweenty Eighteen is an album full of surprises, as much about vocal performances, samples, sounds, subjects and the way all these elements are united to offer the listener an abstract and sensational experience. He uses techniques and ideas like background voices, like whispering that adds soul depth to the tracks and or his choice of samples. Required passage
