Review Summary: More cheese than getting your picture taken.

The thing about Gloryhammer is they are a band. Specifically, a band that plays music: power metal. End of review. But seriously, there’s nothing special to say about this band. If you’ve seen their band name, or possibly even their Power Rangers-esque clothing style, than you may assume that they are in some sort of cheesier-than-a-cheese-factory power metal band. You may also assume that they make music based on a theme, probably a fictional story they created, based on their outlandish apparel. You would also be right. It is a brazen shtick that is inseparable from their music.

Gloryhammer’s music is Rhapsody of Fire/Blind Guardian worship, oops, *cough cough*, I meant to say symphonic power metal. Yay, there be various voices and instruments in this ocean. There also be power metal played so very well that Gloryhammer are one of the most notable power metal acts of our time. Or not, it depends on if you’re lactose intolerant, as the band forcefeed you multiple blocks of cheese as though one does not get tired of the flavour. There will be those that love sucking down this cheesy cockiness, such as those who enjoy D&D, cosplay lovers, anime fans, and specifically manchildren that enjoy all those things religiously because they don’t have a girl to spend their time on. Indeed, there is plenty fresh cheese squeezed including synths just as gloriously, and beautifully played as the skillful guitarists, singer, and drummer. If you can stomach the first song, be prepared to stomach more of the same corny metal, because Legends From Beyond the Galactic Terror is repetitive, and anything but subtle. Take that how you will.
