A festival-friendly popular-pop-producing DJ is right to wear this 'mixtape' on their sleeve as such. Sports a furious and frivolous flow while doling out an emboldened drilling of bass+shrill, glitch+glimmer, ghosts+gorgeous, bendy dancy beats. Many-a choppy and curt whatever-track make for tantalizing twists-n-turns, rapid rap verses proudly stand hand in hand with wailing vocoderobot, it somehow always ends up celestial, and when all of a sudden comes a lightly remixed Sophie classic you're like "sure come on in." Lotta good for what could be scraps perhaps. And just to underline, the couple times when it comes to MCs believe they go hard -- I've never enjoyed JPEGMafia more.

Hi This Is Flume is a nice surprise, because first of all it's not what I expected from Flume at all, secondly it's an evolution and lately it's definitely a success. It's fluid, brilliant and experimental at the same time. This is perhaps where Flume's position becomes interesting, when he is between "the hammer and anvil", between commercial and experimental, because although it is not so incredibly innovative, he has developed his sound and also he positions himself as an "influencer" or "spokesman" who can make musical progress in his ecosystem. Flume magically built and concocted distorted sounds, avoiding losing me. The featurings do as much good to the artist as they do to themselves. I think there will be beautiful days after that

an amazing, enchanting, fluid, mind-bending work of art deconstructed, found the Sophie remix to be very overly long and overall pretty unneccessary but everything else is magic

This is music with an introverted, creative, exploratory heart, all while being loud, proud, and defiant. Also, it's fuckin sick. A sweet little amalgam of everything I want from electronic music right now.

A great idea of features and short bits that can be fleshed out for more live performances, the thing that holds this back for me is the awful drops with the wonderful instrumentation. The EDM needs to evolve and I am starting to see the potential for this to dive into Ambient dance music is exciting. You are on my radar but bot those drops are not great to hear as a vibe.

A worthy capper to the 2010's in indie-leaning electronic. Part rustie/hudmo, part pc music, part RA adjacent idm, and with a whiff of the sounds that made Flume a broadly recognizable figure in mainstream dance music...it's like a tasty appetizer sampler platter of the decade's best trends.
