0.0 | SKA DISPUTE | November 28th 18 | EDIT: This remaster has really grown on me, since its the only one available on streaming services. While the
tone is nowhere near as good as that of the original it is still listenable and, quite frankly, enjoyable.
Somewhere at the Bottom... is one of my favorite albums of all time, if not my favorite, but this remastered
version is a disgrace to the perfect record. Everything on the remaster sounds so thin, and compressed. Vocals
are occasionally drowned out, but usually are drowning everything else out. The bass is completely inaudible and
the guitars sound too produced. A lot of the album's aesthetic comes from how perfect the mix is and how
amazing it sounds. Balanced. But the remaster makes it sound over produced and quite honestly, sh*t.

2.0 poor | coma2rium | November 21st 18 | 10 years on and the album's still a landmark in the whiny post hardcore genre, but holy fuck are we not going to address how awful this remaster is? It sounds like something I'd have submitted in audio 101 to illustrate that I understand the difference between highs, mids, and lows... everything is so stark, contrasting, and compartmentalized... and not in a way that lends itself to the atmosphere of the album at all. The guitars are distant and the vocals sit right in the front and on top of the muddy mess that is the rest of the band. What a disappointment.

0.0 | doom. | January 10th 23 | Why would you remaster a classic? Hell. Even remasters of mediocre albums never turn out well smh

3.0 good | blackmetalhipster | October 15th 20 | Why would you destroy a perfect record but giving it a production that robs it of all the
lifeliness it had ? While this remaster feels less blurry that is especially what makes it so
bad, everything feels like it has been seperated from a cohesive whole and now kind of exists alone
(that said still 3 out of 5 cause this is one of my favourite records)
