Takes a minute to sink in. It's definitely their most varied offering in some time. Feeling a 4-4.5 on this. Only track I'm not sold on is Tarnung, though its not awful.

This record is excellent, probably my favorite Deerhunter offering thus far, to be honest. Such unique textures, compositions, and lyrically, Bradford has taken things in a touching direction.

Although it is actually one of the weakest albums since their inception, mainly through less creative development, Deerhunter still offers very good music. Why Hasn't Everything Already Disappeared? is an easily accessible album, which offers different spiritual and philosophical themes, but which does not necessarily require much thought, because the album can also be appreciated only by its melodic and musical aspect. It's also a good immersive psychedelic album, which reminded me a lot of Kinks with sometimes a touch of Lou Reed in the voice.

The definition of average. Not a bad song on here but also not a single reason to return for a second listen.

I'm having the same reaction to this that I had with the latest Grizzly Bear album. there's fine production and
performances here, but the songs themselves are just having no impact on me whatsoever. Also, a couple of the
more experimental tracks (Detournement, Nocturne) are just flat-out grating.
