Superb "comeback album" from The Specials. Encore displays a fantastic mix of rocksteady, funk, and disco, with lyrics that are just as potent as those on the Special were back in the late-1970s during the pivot towards Thatcherism/neoliberalism. While this album isn't game changing by any means, it is a fun and cohesive testament to contemporary British society, and the Specials continue to prove that they are in lockstep with the different, ever-changing pulses across racial and class stratification.
