In my opinion this album has alot of potential, that sadly doesn't get unleashed. The reason behind that is poor execution and production. A good example for this is the song phobias. I think, looking at the songwriting, it's a great tune, but the overblown instrumentation doesn't let that get through. Often the vocals are way too quiet and the instrumentation too loud in the mix. Overall the mixing is so inconsistent, it's hard to listen to the album without at least once changing the volume. Still I have to give Zach credit for trying to experiment a bit and not going the easy way of staying by his roots.
