You should try going through again then. There's a lot of great moments of TV entertainment, especially the episode that won an Oscar where Jake details the nature and animals around him.

you could start with season 1 but there are a lot of just playful episodes where nothing much happens for a lot of the earlier seasons. the whole cartoon network audience thing. there was a list somewhere of essential episodes iirc. I'll send you it as soon as I find it.

when steven universe and especially gumball ends, that will be the end of many peoples (teens, young adults) childhoods.
|
| |
gumball is actually in its final season right now, ending this year or next year. feelsbadman.
|
| |
Was kind of expecting more from the finale but it's still good. When Golb was changing I was hoping things would get fucked up but then it just takes off
|
| |
golb changing was a crazy minute or two of animation tbh.
|
| |
Yeah it was some of the best I've seen in the series. Made the Lich look like child's play. Was sort of anticlimactic though. Was kind of hoping some peeps would die or something, have a more emotional conclusion. Wouldn't have been out of place with its theme of reincarnation.

Gotta say, Adventure Time's music has always been excellent. They have a penchant for writing wistful dreamlike tunes such as "Sun Cycles" and "Waving to You". Really like the darker and sadder stuff they do too, like the first 10 seconds of "Main Title" (I can't think of any other track names to reference, this is my first AT OST, but these short tracks have appeared all throughout the series)
|
| |
Time Adventure gets me choked up, though I think Rebecca did it better at the comic con panel. seeing John DiMaggio break down never fails to bring a few tears.
|
| |
^ nah man, the immaturity and tangential nature of it is what I loved so much. It gets a little too serious in later seasons. Almost consistently great (it was either season 5 or 6 that sucked ass), but the earlier stuff is prime. Prob seasons 2- 4 being the strongest
|
| |
Adventure Time socks are awesome!
|
| |
@Bloon, it gets less immature. 100%
|
| |
this show owned and i'll miss it a lot
|
| |
same. though, there's a new show in the works called "Infinity Train" that looks promising. gotta look towards the future.
|
| |
Nice review for a great show. I still gotta finish it, but I was super into it when it first came on the air. I just gotta get through the last few seasons
|
| |
Seasons 4-5 are the peak of the show honestly, the trilogy from The Lich through Jake The Dog might be one of my favourite animated moments ever. It gets so fucked up so fast yet doesn't lose its humour. (Something some of the later episodes may have learned from, though I do love those too)

Also Time Adventure is a friggin gorgeous song, Rebecca Sugar has a way of making really simple songwriting pull so much emotion.
|
| |
I get the lyrical theme of reincarnation in that song but honestly find it kind of cringey
|
| |
It’s more emotional from timing and implication. It’s a goodbye song for the fans, and it really hits hard if you were invested in the series all the way through.
|
| |
Yes I get that it's a goodbye song that also alludes to their theme of reincarnation, but they've written far better songs imo (coming from someone who was invested throughout the entire series).
Your 5 for this is kind of baffling. They have some good songs here but a lot of filler and random like 30 second snippets that don't work nearly as well out of context. They have episodes with way better songwriting. Just can't imagine someone replaying this album lol
