my girl Waxahatchee does piano ballads and acoustics like a person who is reasonably well capable of doing them effectively. Bing bong bing bong.

I've never heard anything else by Waxahatchee, but this EP seems to improve with each listen. Confident and soaring vocal melodies are given plenty of room to breathe over delicate pianos. Things close out nicely with the gorgeous ballad, "Takes so Much." Not much to complain about, really.
