Leaving the Tomb and coming to infect the senses, The Crimson Ghosts hit home with some of the most beautiful horror rock music to bless my ears. I've heard many people in the horror rock community talk about the band for a while but I never paid much attention. That was my loss because these guys are the real deal. Part metal, part punk, all heart, The Crimson Ghosts have released the best horror rock album I've heard in two or three years. This debut album from the German ghouls is an absolute blessing.
Church bells and the howling of the wolves…creeping in is the fog that blinds your vision as the wolves are getting closer. So close they can smell your fear. Right before they jump to attack, "Reborn with Trioxine" attacks back and delivers a massive blow to the howling beasts! "Sons of the Zodiac" is proof that this is an album that will make a dent in the horror rock world. "The King of Skull Island" shows great vocal range and great backing vocals with amazing drumming and hypersonic guitar licks. The shortest track on the album is also one of the best. "Until You Wake" has great harmonies and all around fantastic music that encompasses not just the album, but a crisp horror sound.

"Pre Mortem Ecstasy" is a ferocious track that brings out the inner souls of the Ghosts. Now, my favorite track on the album shows a softer side of the band, yet still lets the beauty of their sound caress them. While reminding me a bit of the Misfits' "Saturday Night", "Necrobabe" is the track that makes the album for me. Lyrically, musically and emotionally this is a magical track. This song is in the running for my favorite horror rock love song to date. "At Night" is just one of the handful of catchy and dark tracks that make this album a big hit. Blowing the rest of the album out of the water (musically) is the heavy and fast paced track "Tale of a Haunted Wood". With almost black metal vocals in some portions of the song, this song undeniably steps up the speed and talent of the band while keeping the same formula used to induce and entice us with the rest of this magnificent album.

Jim has a point there. Would be great if you could edit tracklist and album in via your UserCP.

No, they're signed I think. They opened for the Misfits and are the corniest sh'it ever. This Message Edited On 07.12.05

The reason I didn't put the track list is because I'm at work and I just put this up while I was on my lunch break. Maybe I'll edit it and fix it all up later.

As for Berskerker, you're calling them corny when they opened up for the Misfits. That's funny. *and if you didn't understand it, I was saying the Misfits now-a-days are corny as hell* Oh, and they're signed to Fiend Force Records.
