Van Morrison at his age and with a resume as impressive as his, has literally nothing to prove. Versatile, his 38th studio release, comes only 3 months after Roll With The Punches and consists mainly of covers while only six compositions are his and one of those is from Poetic Champions Compose. Nevertheless, he infuses them with his inimitable flair and style which makes the overall offering quite enjoyable. Granted, Versatile doesn't have the emotional depth of some of his previous albums but its jazzy, laid-back atmosphere still has a lot to offer to Van Morrison fans.
