Release Date: 2005 | Tracklist

This is their third album, that keeps them unfortunatly without the overwhelming success in sales of other British bands (Today I'm looking you Coldplay) but their spirit remains constant despite having some changes in the sound. Its pillars are still the voice of James Walsh, the precious Barry Westhead keyboards and the melodic guitar, in that specific order. However in this album of 2005 Bern Byrne on drums, and James Stelfox on bass have a decisive role. On the outside is a step to a more rock band with heavy guitars, sound effects and a brilliant production compared to the previous album that had a more pop approach to soft ballads.

In the cross fire

It is a hymn with their incisors and repetitive choruses, electrically guitars charged and a very clean line bass that is topped by the drums, they could really rock without losing their identity, and also printing in strong lyrical feelings.

Counterfeit Life

It's a song that highlights the strong intention to move ours heads more strongly, with a strong bass line while guitars purr in her delightful effect throughout the song. A voice torn from Walsh and the constant change between piano and organ including guitar effects. Drums sounds to be bulkier and stronger. However, they fail to operate the chorus of the song and the lyrics. It can be a simple song.

In my blood

The rhythm guitar that accompanies the first verses is delicious and the bass is gently poking the listener. Bass becomes important as never before. The time of the lyrics is bright and generates a memorable mystique and aura. Bass solos, chorus easy to remember but too simple again. A middle and end quite interesting bursting with the cry of Walsh. The brightness of the piano gives a great color.

Faith hope love

It is the most pop song in the entire album, because they were interested in making the simple melodic guitar as the pilar of the song. however in the choir there is a very particular structure changing with the sound set of words that make up the song while Walsh sings. His voice penetrates strongly in the melody and the guitar arrangement repeated in the end closed it with beauty.

I dont know

It is a kind of rest with a country air and accompanied by the typical tempo well marked from the band and with the lyrics of Walsh. Starsailor has a unique and very special sound here that wants to be more decisive. The half is huge and exciting to climb with the screams. Liberatory breaks. The strange chorus at the end, with that very particular Eeeeee lyrics.

Keep us toghether

A change of melodic guitar effect, other guitars back here making sharper the rock inclination. The verses are beautiful until the turn of the choir where the lyrics shines with the ooooo oooo exciting part and accelerating by a low bass. Soft, Emotional. It is a gentle stroll around the listener. The change in half-Final part is accumulated to give energy to the song.

Get out while you can

It seems strange to me that Starsailor always put their best songs coming to this part of their albums. A complete trace of his identity. This is Starsailor. The most beautiful and melodic song that allows the listener change between the very marked time and intoxicating chorus between verses of Walsh. It seems to me delicious the solo guitar part with the delicate organ. The lyric is repetitive and bright. The bass line is repeated among his smooths and exchange of notes. The bodies shine as always at the end. Unforgettable.

This time.

conspicuous by its opening line and its air of gospel music. A rock ballad that changes between soft and shiny. It is the third similar song like A counterfiet and in the crossfire , leaving space at the piano and organ at the same time. The strong drumbeat and rhythm that fills the expectations of the listener. Walsh closes the song with its repetitive phrase ... some blood.

White light

It provides melancholy in its opening lines between the beautiful accompaniment of guitar and piano. Then burst into a chorus that reminds me of Muse, and then continues with a slight change in the bass accompaniment. It's a song that tries to find something epic, energy choir, but only succeeds with the constant changes and voices that reinforce the lyrics. The bass has worked as before in this album and lets give a great package to the whole.

Jeremiah

The closure of rest and softness with the soul exposed of Walsh in his throat, heart and melancholy. Personally it's a beautiful melody which gives us the brilliand Walsh's voice. And every time i see the sun go down i think of you. Beautiful and very worthy song.I like singing.

Empty streets

A reminder of their first album of the band, a folk melody while Walsh sings with melancholy, strength that touch the soul. The piano is beautiful and it is impossible not to be intoxicated by the metric and particular form of the lyrics in the chorus. While the final acoustic guitar create a closure of an album that I find in their sections brighter than the previous, more sentimental, stronger, conveniently near to rock and much more instrumental.

The band is interested in the traditional melody of the song, not to produce a different sound experience, give strength to parts and be strong but memorable. Starsailor created ballads rock, in a time when complex was important for criticism. The media and the public turned his attention to more artificial things but still overwhelming in sound experiences. Starsailor is a band that unfortunately very few know but that appeals to certain particular tastes in which you can fall in love easily. If i have to put a number 3.8 will be my decision.
