I'd like to re-write my original soundoff...I at first criticized the band for stepping away
from their emo roots and adventuring into more accessible territories. While this remains
true, the songs written here are damn good...like "get stuck in your head but you dont
realize it until the next time you see them live" good. This record may seem offputting at
first with its blaring melodies and inherent simplicity and any critic would be quick to say
how "surface-level" such an album is. Yet, not enough credit is given, I think, to how
masterfully they were able to pull off a "pop" excursion. Don't get me wrong I'll always
prefer their sadboi yells, but after a lot of time with this record, I can finally
understand why every band in the scene is saying "man their new album though...so good" --
