Despite my belief that country music is a horrible genre, there is someone other than Johnny Cash that makes it enjoyable for me... Garth Brooks. This was the record I grew up with as a kid. His vocals and lyrics are powerful, and the instrumentation compliments his voice perfectly. There's a few songs I enjoy of his that are missing, which is understandable because this was released before the songs were, but this is a perfect compilation if you're not willing to explore his more adventurous 3-disc compilation, The Ultimate Hits.
