Review Summary: The many Schizophrenic faces of a Basement Spawn
Hatred for Mankind is the disturbingly versatile project of Promethean, also of the black metal band Black Mutiny. Unlike, Black Mutiny this particular album of Promethean's is devoid of that cascade of melody, you can grab onto in his black metal project. Instead, you are stuck in the dark with the deceitful spawn of his creation, spewing a mixture of disgusting noise and death grind. Though, the album is only 30 minutes in length, in this short time you will be scarred by this horrific creature.
To start off this album is more of a terrifying experience, than a group of songs that will get stuck in your head. Each song alone is simply another part of the image that is being overshadowed by the petrifying sounds this creature is creating. Although, this room is dark this album has so many tales to tell from the track "Slicing Open A New Born Baby (And Forcefully Feeding It's Internal Organs To My Chained Hostage)" to "Ritualistic Suicide". These songs have no lyrics, so Promethean has relied on the extreme character of his vocal style. His vocals sound like the deranged voice of the captor in which us the listeners are mercilessly forced to experience this horrific experience.
All in all, the music and lyrics to this release are quite ambiguous, each song tells a thousand words. Each song illuminates the darkness so that maybe with many listens we could see the face of our deranged captor. What does he look like? What is his story? The bigger question is what is your story? All in all, this album was an absolute antimasterpiece in the noise genre and I'm not excited to see what this diverse project will release in the future.
With all that... This is pretty bad and is not music.
