The south Florida hip-hop scene is quickly becoming one of the most captivating around, birthing some of the most versatile and ambitious young emcees around. One of said emcees is wifisfuneral, and he exhibits exactly the type of ability one speaks of on Black Heart Revenge. There are definitely some bangers here, as expected, and he does a very nice job on those, but where he surprises is when cloudier, more mid-paced tracks come along. He can be imposing and is so on many tracks, but he also can cop an old-school flow and spit some more in-depth stuff that gives context to the lyrics on the harder tracks. The production matches his versatility, opting for a somewhat minimal approach to both of the styles it employs and letting wifisfuneral flow freely and without restraint on top of it. Definitely a nice debut for the kid, and there's a ton of potential left untapped by this as well, boding well for the future.
