2.0 poor | Jared Floryan | February 28th 16 | Art is used as a catharsis for various things except this record, because in the case of Kurushimi's self-titled LP, art is instead utilized as a mere time waster. If the wind family could talk and think just like human beings and other similar creatures, they would be yelling this ad nauseam: "The 9-track studio album we just sat through sax!"

2.0 poor | LotusFlower | February 19th 16 | If you've ever felt the need to listen to a guy fuck around on a saxophone for over an hour with no real rhyme, reason, or any substantial quality in the long run... then Kurushimi is for you.

3.0 good | portableheadd | December 21st 16 | Fairly structured jazz-fusion odysseys that don't match the fever dreams of typical free-jazz but certainly not compatible for those completely outside the sphere this floats in.

0.0 | Scuro EMERITUS | September 26th 16 | Pretty random and stuff but not awful. There's some structure and the idea is kinda cool, maybe if a shorter song was used as an interlude on a proper album I could even praise it. As it stands this album is mostly directionless and repetitive. And too long for what it offers. It's not straight-up irritating, I could have this playing in the background and not be bothered, but it's definitley not something I'd consider 'good' and the saxophone parts venture into annoying territory quite often, especially when the playing becomes dissonant. Yeah I'm pretty conflicted on this one.
