3.5 great | AnAutopsy | September 20th 16 | Solid tech death(core) record. There is a lot of fret board surfin' guitar work to go along with the chugging slam breakdowns that are scattered throughout the album. Blade of Horus don't leave you hangin' when it comes to melodies either. There are plenty of ripping guitar melodies and leads. The drums are handled by the legendary Kevin Talley and he definitely brings his A+ game on this record. If some of the songs flowed better than this would be 4. Overall great listen. Recommended.

3.0 good | tydelial | February 2nd 16 | Blade of Horus is currently the brain child of Ivan Ellis. Having chanced upon them while scoping out the new Obscura album, I downloaded their debut and decided to give it a spin. From the get go, Ellis wastes no time with the blistering fretwork commonly found in today's tech death fares. He's proficient at scale work, that's for sure. From the second track, influences ranging from Rings of Saturn and The Faceless to deathcore. Plenty of middle eastern scales. Plenty of shred. Plenty of everything we've heard before.
