Two good songs that sound like they were made by two different bands respectively. The first track, "a flood of sunshine" has a very fitting title. The song features this roaring, uplifting proggy guitar riff that you just want to sing along to. I can't help but feel like the song is a little empty due to the absence of vocals, because it isn't instrumentally substantial enough to sustain warrant a 4 minute song. The second track, "alone with someone loved", on the other hand, feels VERY instrumentally substantial. A story is told through an intriguing vocal sample across a beautiful and vivid post-rock guitar landscape, which progresses into an equally beautiful, noisy shoegaze. It's an absolutely stunning song that feels incredible to listen to. So yeah. We got a 3.5 song and a 5/5 song here. But also we need to take into account how unbalanced the EP is. So, I'll give this a 3.5.rEDIT: Apparently, when rating this album, I am supposed to count the 2005-2006 compilation as well, as this is supposed to be rating his discography. The 2005-2006 compilation is just a bunch of insubstantial and average demos, plus one really shitty and out-of-place track of a bunch of shit reversed in Audacity. My rating falls to a 3.
