Devoid of sampled drums, loops, or garbage cans (or any other household objects the previous reviewer's untrained ears may have invented), God's Money consists of and relies heavily on naturalist melody and rhythm to propel the listener into a "sugar shock like state," as the band's label frankly puts it. Indeed, the music is very sweetly astounding, and is hard to imagine any other way. The various climaxes and breakdowns forcefully tear you from your surroundings and into the thick, damp soundscape created via reverb, echo, and primitive/tribal percussive assaults. With this in mind, it's easy to feel extracted from your day and dissolved into a raw solution of liquid art when listening to God's Money.
