Review Summary: james murphy
Rapes. The opener HUNG DRAWN and QUARTERED is a classic of the genre, beginning with a cool ***ty noise and then comes the RIFFS with double bass and everything you could ever want in life. The vocals go deep and hard, he sounds like a pissed off old man trying to send back soup in a deli. You cant help but chant along during the chorus, even Glenn Benton couldnt help it as you will notice if you know anything about music. The next song TASTELESS INCEST is just as awesome as the title. The riffs never hold back, they take no prisoners, they dont care about your feelings, they just do their job which is ***ing you up. The verse is so ***ing thrashy i cant help but go ***ing crazy and mosh by myself in my bedroom, its more fun than you think. Lyrically the songs about some old dude raping his kids, but i dont blame him honestly, because as angelripper once said, forbidden fruits taste better. James murphy is probably the best guitar player ever made, his solos make any album 10x better and he knows this, he knows hes a ***ing god. There are other people in the band but i dont know their names and i dont care, like they do a great job but theyre just overshadowed so hard. Honestly without murphy this album would probably be quite repetitive, but he helps keep you enjoying the album as you wait for his legendary solos, you know theyre ***ing coming and you cant wait for them to grace your ears. The title track is so ***ing cool, the main solo is so unbelievable, like how do you write something like that? even the riff under it is amazing, *** this rules. The outro solo is just as awesome too, metal. The album pretty much follows the same formula throughout which is rockin riffs, the best solos ever and groovy beats. The production is good and crisp, the guitars are fuzzy and everything sounds very warm, which i love. Also did i mention james murphy is king?
I recommend this to fans of death metal, fans of music in general and fans of people who like the best solos ever made. Their previous album To the Gory End is probably a better album than this overall, but this has james murphy and that one doesnt, so yea this is the one to get.
