3.0 good | AndreBourbeau | August 13th 15 | This album is a somewhat entertaining Australian post-hardcore romp. Its production by Matt Goldman is great. Belle Haven's instrumentation is satisfactory, and has some interesting guitar work. The record's real flaw is the band's vocals. The album's screams are great, and woefully underused. The cleans, on the other hand, are borderline unbearable at times. Vocalist David Vernon adores using his falsetto at about every opportunity he can, and tries to sing above his regular, probable-baritone range into tenor territory, with poor results. Vernon's performance is a shame because he has a nice voice, but decides to seriously misuse it. Overall, Belle Haven's debut has a solid foundation, and nothing more.

0.0 | Chuggy | November 9th 16 | A competent album with a bit of an identity crisis. At times it is a twangy, heavy metalcore album
and sometimes it takes on a tr00-pop punk emo vibe.
Excellent production here makes it worth a listen. These guys will be a band to keep an eye on
providing they can sharpen up their songwriting and reign in the more generic metalcore part of
their sound. Currently, they excel at the more Emo side of their sound.
