4.5 superb | SaturdayNightWrist1 | May 5th 15 | Very inventive and unique. It has very intelligent and dark lyrics, while not sounding whiny like some other bands similar to them seem to have. *cough cough* Sworn In *cough cough*. This EP is definitely leagues above the rest.

4.5 superb | MegaJake1024 | March 17th 15 | This is probably the single most inventive EP I've ever heard. There's nothing like these guys around. Its unexpected and ridiculously well-executed. Needs to be heard.

3.0 good | Brabiz | August 9th 22 | SilentNight joined Sputnik just to give 10 of the absolute worst takes in the history of music, then dipped. Respect

5.0 classic | SilentNight | October 10th 18 | I joined Sputnik to make this review. I typed out a massive piece and then it got deleted in the
account creation process so here's a short little review instead: This album is one of the best
albums I've ever listened to and probably the most underrated. It fuses Nu metal and
death/metalcore perfectly. The instrumentals are incredible with some of the nastiest patterns
ever conceived. Unlike a lot of vocalists in the same genre, the vocalist here does not have that
whiny undertone to his voice and although the album is about depression, the lyrics aren't whiny
or cringy either. While many bands have covered the topic before, few have done so in an such an
intelligent manner. The album does more than just talk about it, it tells a story from the
perspective of someone suffering from it. Each song goes through a day in the life of this
suicidal individual who plans to end it all at the end of the week/album. This is a must listen
for fans of the genre unless you're someone who can't get past the two songs on this album that
aren't metal. I thought they fit perfectly but that's just my opinion.

5.0 classic | Hulk42959 | February 19th 18 | So fucking good wish they keep this style in their debut album 5/5(masterpiece)

4.0 excellent | snepsts | November 5th 17 | Dark, menacing, and heavy as shit. Scarecrow (the persona embodying insecurities for the lead singer, Vincente Void) kills himself to be reborn anew, as a nu-metal messiah.

2.0 poor | Jared Floryan | July 9th 15 | Much like their comrades, Darke Complex are hell-bent on bringing out the worst characteristics in both modern metalcore and nu metal. Say what you want about the two styles, but in spite of the reputation they've earned, I think both subgenres have their share of good bands. Speaking of "good", I don't hear much of anything even remotely similar to this adjective on Widow. That average makes me nauseous, man. If these chuckleheads were to ditch the grating clean vocals, rapping, and improve on their songwriting (like that's gonna happen), then maybe they could receive another chance. Love child of Converge and Around the Fur-era Deftones, this totally isn't.
