*There will be no comparisons to At The Drive In or The Mars Volta*
The Philosophy Of Velocity is a brillant sophomore album that smashes their debut out the water. Why? lend me your eyes and read on
each song explores different moods tempos and styles while remaining cohesive, from the rocket out of the gates "Crime" which begins the album after a short calming introduction the the albums concept which i will discuss later. Other notable songs include "Cameo" witch include lead singer Jonathan Newsby howling like a ghost bitten by a werewolf and the slow shoegaze that is "Mainwairing". In short each song rocks with the same force as the one before it in a different way thanks to the bands constant metamorphisis in using their instruments
the lyrics are as one might think at first look, strange. this is the be expected considering the concept is built on two levels, the first being a writer struggling with a masterpiece, and the short stories that hes written. so concept equals plus
if there are any bad parts its that its somewhat tiresome on a first listen, it can wear an impatient listener down but those who really focus will be rewarded greatly in expierncing to one hell of an interesting album
My first review, if i was too breif or got the point too quick too bad or had punctations errors i don't care,
RIP Brazil
