Review Summary: Avril Lavigne made Hello Kitty look better. I don't know what compels people to merge certain genres. Sometimes, a band like Gorod comes a long and fuses jazz and death metal in an almost seamless manner. Sometimes, a band like Panopticon fuses bluegrass with black metal in a way that makes you ponder just what it takes to fuse such contrasting sounds in a way that makes for a unique, beautiful yet still aggresive performance. Then you wonder why someone took their in-heat cat and beat against a little tyke keyboard in the middle of their basement. To make the epitome of piss-poor music? Perhaps.
If I had to truly paint you an image of the sound of this "digigrind" album I would paint you a picture of a young Dahvie Vanity playing Mario Kart then letting off banshee like wails because he had lost to a blue shell. Yet somehow, even that doesn't do it justice. Whether or not making a band that is officially worse then the love child of Dahvie Vanity and the Brokencyde Vocalist is either a accomplishment or an atrocity I cannot say, but perhaps it is both. I am leaning towards the latter, however not even for the quality of the music, because as absolutely vomit-inducing as it is, you have to think-some jackass made money off of this. Someone out there is probably sitting back, grinning the most evil smile, because he knows all he had done was slammed his head against a keyboard for 30 minutes while he layered the sounds of grating chalk on a chalkboard to substitute screams, and that off of this he could make money. Maybe not millions, maybe not even thousands. Yet in the bare minimum, this is the easiest, yet most sad couple hundred bucks someone could make.
If this is the case, is he ingenious? Has he made the easiest money on the face of the earth? Perhaps, but even in such a case, it is irating when say, a band like Be'Lakor, for example, cannot make it out of their home country of Australia due to a lack of money for a legitimate tour, and that is with immense effort put into their music. The answer is simple to making money-lambaste the music industry for its waste if you may, but you can make money by simply putting forth sounds from most peoples nightmares. Few were a fan of the Hello Kitty trend before this, and now, no one is.

This album is awful yeah. Dece rev,. Normally I'd say 'talk about the music more' but I'm really glad you didn't and opted for the economics lesson instead cuz this is just trash. No way it would have benefited from analysis.

Yeah, but honestly as atrocious as this album is, I can respect other bad bands just slightly more, like for example, if I were to hear Chainsmokers "Closer" for the 50th time, I wouldn't actually be like "lord kill me", because it at least has a semblance of music. I am hoping that their isn't anything worse than this, because I think I am done discovering bad music for an extremely long time.

Haha, yeah it's a useful 'rock bottom' reference to put other bad albums into perspective. Wouldn't worry about having two reviews up, you waited a day and since it's a new year reviews are going up pretty slow.

Actually in my case it's 19 year old comic relief. I don't mean to be insulting towards the people who actually have Down's syndrome, but I do have relatively offensive humor sometimes.

honestly i had to go back and see what i actually said but that comment actually was supposed to be anti-ableist because i have a low tolerance for people immitating those with special needs and i know people who find that funny so laughing at whatever alchemist says as fucked up as laughing at somebody with autism/down's syndrome/whatever
