Review Summary: Everything you like about post-hardcore across six tracks.

Early post-hardcore bands are known for their raw sound and powerful vocals. Modern post-hardcore bands are known for being far smoother and more melodic. So what happens when you tie those two eras of post-hardcore together? You get Adventurer.

The riffs are insane. Everything is melodic and smooth and technical. The harmonized vocals? Heaven. The screams? Barking and powerful. The solos are always superb and the vocals are never lacking emotion or power. While lyrically they’re really nothing new it’s entirely forgivable because the delivery is always so grand. The technical playing ability is just all there. Nothing is lacking skill wise. The sound is very polished and the mix is solid.

I will say that there are a few moments that I would prefer hadn't been kept in. “Pursuit of Happiness” has a very strange psychedelic intro that is immediately dropped and never picked up again. It also has a pseudo-breakdown halfway through that’s just plain strange. It doesn't flow well and it doesn't bring the energy that you’d expect from a real breakdown. “Two Wrongs Don’t Make a Wife” does the same thing at the very end of the track. It’s a very muted breakdown, not energetic or frenetic. Just kind of there.

And yet there isn't a track on here I would call filler material. Every track is fully fleshed out and all of them have moments of absolute greatness. A great example of this is the final section of “Marianas Trenchcoat.” Coming out of an extremely powerful verse there is a calming break that is then matched with contrasting shouts and cleans by all three band members. The highlights are always very high, while the lows are at the worst bearable.

Overall it’s a fantastic EP. Keep your eyes on these guys. I think that if they manage to get an actual label behind them they’ll have some great success.

Unless it was Pursuit of Happiness. Then it's understandable.

Dude has the most generic voice, disappointing. Shame, as your review was persuasive enough for me to listen to this.

I definitely feel that (I personally think he's dead on for Good Charlotte) but the reason I like the vocals so much is in how they're used. They're constantly alternating the screams and cleans and harmonizing and switching up pace. I just think its cool.

This band is from around where i live. Its not horrid but it isn't great. I thought it had points where it was incredibly stale and the emotionless, and just plastic if you know what i mean. The riffs are cool at times, but it seems to be nothing new, and the style its replicating isn't even good. ehhh on this

Yeah they're a local band from my area and they just got signed. They're pretty unoriginal, sterilely produced, and just lame.

Not bad at all for a 3-piece. They got potential.

I've been listening to these guys again recently. I'm gonna call myself a fan because I like the majority of their songs.

Dem boys make some great song endings.

Guess I'm only one who digs "Pursuit of happiness" then? Cool. Haha.
