4.0 excellent | Rustune | April 5th 22 | I think the main reason I'm giving this such a high rating is because the sound is definitely indicative of its era (video game music, the beginning of the "dark ages" of music), but that it is also some of the most complex layered drum and bass I have ever heard. Maybe it's not the most innovative or unique sounding record but it carries with it a special aura that can't really be matched by anything else, kind of like a video game soundtrack to life and that's why It sounds more personal than lots of other electronic music I've listened to. Highly recommend this one on vinyl too if you can find a copy of it somewhere. The sounds are warmer and the purity/hope of the technologic boom that everyone was anticipating with wide eyes at the time is beautifully and simply captured by this razor focused LP
