Similarly to his 14th Piano Sonata, I find this a hard work to rate. Why? Inconsistent quality over movements. The first 25 minute one is incredible, shows tons of tormented emotion, but also brilliant techniquew and composition. The second is just a typical LArgo, not my thhing, and the lhe last prety standard too.

The 23-minute epic of a first movement is among Beethoven's best orchestral compositions. It
has it all - soaring violin cadenzas, hauntingly effective use of the timpani, and a tastefully
bombastic motif that gets modulated and broken down into various, equally beautiful themes
throughout the piece. The second and third movements, clocking in at a little under 10 minutes
each, hold their own as well, especially the captivating finale Rondo. Allegro, which contains
some of the fastest and emotive violin work Beethoven had ever arranged. Simply brilliant.
