3.0 good | SticksmanTheBored | April 17th 14 | On "Diffraction/Refraction", YCWCB mature and soothen their sound, remaining consistent and
original but far less experimental and energetic than the band that made "Chromatic". The
combo of first two songs "After December" and "Fall For You" doesn't deliver a first good
impression and pale in comparison to "Chromatic"'s two-first-songs-combo "Over the Sun/Under
the Water" and "Until December". No sign of the hyperactive, infeccious, indie-influenced
and at times spazzic sound the band conveyed in their debut album is to be found in this
effort. "Diffraction/Refraction" isn't by any means a bad album and it does have it's
higlights, but it is a flawed album and a let down compared to it's predecessor.
