I wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. I am not that familiar with her previous work, but I do know that it didn't really grab my attention. This is pretty attention grabbing throughout its duration.

"Slow Phaser" can't be pinned down. It's an album chock full of generic twists and subtle surprises. In terms of scope, the music ranges from Americana to fusion; from high school theater to prog rock. If I had to say, I'd offer that "Slow Phaser" falls somewhere between Fleetwood Mac and Deep Purple, but with modern pop sensibilities. Several tracks are standouts. r
