Review Summary: Chug-a-Chug-a-Chug-a-Chug-a-Chug-a-Chug-a-Chug-a-Chug. Guess they gotta start somewhere. A sophomore effort by a little known band called reflections. Not a band album at all, you know, except for all the constant chugging. I can't even find the key tone of most of these songs because they chug so much. One thing I appreciate is the short but sweet use of clean vocals in some songs. But overall, the album started off good then gradually went down hill. Also,
(And I dont know if this is even a relative factor in an album but I'll say it anyway) the inconsistancy of the runtime of these tracks was really weird. We got songs like "Delirium" and "My Cancer" that run a little bit under three minutes, to songs like "Lost Pages" and "This House" that run a little over five minutes. Once again, don't know if that somehow contributes to the sound of the album but just reporting it.
The album, a lot like they're last one, would probably sound a lot better if their production wasn't complete ass. I can hardly make out what anyone is saying, the drums and guitars are hard to make out, all of this makes the album sound really fuzzy. Kinda like when your trying to find a radio station in between frequencies. However, if you can look past all of this, you will see that this band has a lot of potential and is pretty talented. Not the best album of the year or anything, after all you can only do so much with the ***ty production they were probably working in, but its still a lot better than some of the stuff other people are putting out.
Drawing back to a previous statement, I really do like the use of clean vocals in "Lost Pages." You don't normally hear clean vocals in this genre and hearing it here was a pleasant surprise. There are also brief clean vocals in some other tracks throughout the album, but "Lost Pages" was probably the most memorable. There is lots of room for change in this album, so hopefully the band will improve on there next release.

"reflections. Not a band album"
should be "Reflections" and "Not a bad album"
also first paragraph needs to be formatted better.

what.
| | | Go back and proofread. There are a couple obvious errors. Just letting you know man.
| | | There are words. There are what look like paragraphs. There are punctuation marks. Basically I think this is a music review, except I can't be sure because it doesn't really say anything about music except for something about bad production and something else about clean vocals.
Neg. How about you actually try next time?

I really tried to make sense out of this, but i just can't. You tackle irrelevant points like the
length of the songs, it's completely unjustified. And no, that doesn't even make sense " the
inconsistancy of the runtime of these tracks was really weird", you make it hard for me to take
whatever you say serious after that. And you know exactly what i'm coming from, you doubted the
utility of that sentence yourself on the review, just before you said it.
Other than that i don't agree with anything you say there, and you can beg to differ but the points
you make, even though still your opinion, are really unfounded. You didn't even make it look like
you knew what you're talking about at all, you weren't too technical about it and repeated some
points and besides, how would you compare the production in this album with the one on their first
album?
Also, "A sophomore effort by a little known band called reflections." . What the fuck is that, i
ask. You don't capitalize the band's name letting the feeling that you're disregarding and showing
contempt for the band sink even deeper.
I think you fucked up big on this review and you outta need having someone tell you that. Neg'd.
Don't take it as an offense, there are writers in here that run circles around my writing, that's a
given and i'm not trying to make you feel bad, what i'm saying is i got my own rough edges to tend
to in my writing. But i really do feel like you're in need for some pointers and these are some of
the ones i feel can give, with the little expertise i have. Please do keep it up and try to do
better next time

Hmmm, so if an album has a lot of chugging.. it doesnt make it album?

I'm sure he's a cool dude, were just being mean to the review
| | | I was talking to betray and sitar. There's nothing wrong with making a joke or constructive criticism,
but just saying "shit" or "how about you actually try?" is uncalled for.

But the problem with this review is that it's (less than) half-assed and smacks of zero effort to analyze the album or the music on it. It seems pretty clear to me that the dude just barely skimmed the album while doing something else, wrote about the first thing that caught his ear - the clean vocals - and to fill up space wrote about the song lengths(!). I wasn't making a joke about the review, I was pointing out that this review IS a joke.

| | | I said basically the same thing as you did but I wasn't insulting, no need to be a dick. And I didn't
say you were joking...
| | | who seriously pos'd this
| | | This review pushed some other much more deserving review off the front page. For that reason alone it deserves to be derided roundly.
