This is an album that captures the craziness of the Zappa concerts during the Flo and Eddie period of The Mothers. This is definetly not Zappa's best Live Album but it really is not that bad. The only problem with the album in my opinion is the part of the album that has the band doing the groupie songs which gets old fast. The band performs some classic tracks on the album including "Peaches and Regalia", "Wille The Pimp", and "Happy Together" (which is because Flo and Eddie from the band at the time were former members of the band The Turtles who first recorded the song).

1. Little House I Used To Live In - A very great mellow song that has some nice keyboard work. I love the tone of Zappa's guitar on this song. The song starts to speed up and then slows into a kind of mariachi rhythm that has some funny singing by the band "La La La". The guitar solo close to the end of the song is excellent. A nice way to open up the album.
Rating: 4.5/5

2. The Mud Shark - This is a Zappa classic that tells a story of how a band got a groupie to have sex with a mud shark on video tape in the hotelroom of The Edgewater Inn. This actually happened according to Rolling Stone Magazine, only not to a band called The Vanilla Fudge it happened with a little band called Led Zeppelin. The backing vocals are funny and fit the song well.
Rating: 5/5

3. What Kind Of Girl Do You Think We Are? - The song begins with Flo and Eddie singing call and answer in a soul style. The band is backing with a very Bluesy feel to the song. This is the first and best song dealing with the groupie stories.
Rating: 4/5

4. Bwana Dik - The band gets really heavy in this song but the lyrics are just too much after a while. Although it is pretty funny the first time you hear it. One of the weakest songs on the album.
Rating: 2.5/5

5. Latex Solar Beef - This is a pretty funny song that talks about hemmerhoids throughout the song. The playing in the song is also pretty good as well. The bass line just hits you hard throughout the entire song.
Rating: 3.5/5

6. Willie The Pimp (Part One) - The song starts out continuing the previous song but eventually leads into the famous riff from one of my favorite Zappa Tunes. This song has a great guitar solo in it. This is one of my favorite tracks on the album just because the solos in it are just so awesome.
Rating: 4.5/5

7. Do You Like My New Car? - This song deals with the groupies. Not one of my favorites because it is mostly dialogue and not so much playing through most of it. The dialogue is hilarious. I'm not going describe the dialouge it would just ruin it for you. The band kind of plays a soundtrack for the dialogue.
Rating: 4/5

8. Happy Together - A Great Rendition of a Classic Sixties song. I'm sure that most of the people reading this have heard this song about a hundred times before in their life. The Vocal Harmonies in the song are perfect. They just bring the crowd into an uproar with this number.
Rating: 5/5

9. Lonesome Electric Turkey - The song starts with some very eerie solos by the keyboard that continues for the rest of the song. I guess that Frank was trying to have the playing sound like how an electric turkey was supposed to sound like when it was lonesome.
Rating: 3/5

10. Peaches En Regalia - An awesome instrumental song off of Hot Rats that gets better every time that I hear it. If you haven't heard this song before then buy Hot Rats because the version on that is much more clearer and will let you appreciate this live version more.
Rating: 4.5/5

11. Tears Began To Fall - This was Frank Zappa's stab at Pop Music. Even though Frank wasn't famous for this kind of music this really isn't a bad song at all. I actually enjoy it a lot more than most of the other pop music. I really enjoy the guitar accompaniment near the middle of the song. A Great closing song.
Rating: 4/5

This album may have some weak spots but overall it will keep you entertained. I know that some Die-Hard Zappa fans dislike this album and prefer Roxy & Elsewhere better (I have yet to pick up that album) but either way I think that you should give this album a listen.

I agree, definately not one of his better live albums. I'm not a huge fan of the Flo and Eddie era but there was a lot of crazy stage stuff going on around that time. Great review!

I believe so, as it was part of the band's live set before Zappa's injury.

I read that he wanted to get this band back together and there are some rehearsals recorded. Would be cool to hear if they were as good as they were here.

I am very excited for the massive release of this in a week. Looking forward to hearing different versions of Billy the Mountain. Even though this isn't anywhere near my favorite release from Zappa, this was one of the big stepping stones for me to get into him years ago so I look back on this album fondly.
