Review Summary: You Go Sean!

Wow. first let me start off by saying that this album is way better than what i was expecting. I think i was one of those people who kind of doubted Sean's ability to make really good music. The sad thing about him is that he's constantly being compared to his father "john" whether in a good or a bad way. comments like "he's just like his father" or "he's nothing like john!" i think he's a great artist on his own. And this album is proof of that.

Dead meat is the first Sean lennon song i listened to. I was immediately impressed to say the least. the fantastic Piano playing. pretty good lyrics its an all around good song. its probably the most well known sean lennon song. the video for this song was a little too dramatic. I love the melodic tune of the next song Wait for me. nice guitar solo in the middle. my favorite lyric is when he says "Take your time but don't take mine" Listen to this song and "im only sleeping" by the beatles. Notice any similarities? Sean used the backwards guitar solo method that was in that song and it works well on the song. Parachute is a song i think every Should listen to this song. This song touches the heart. definately one of the best off this album. i like the girl in the back singing "la la la" during the chorus. Amazing song. The title track is very good as well. You could hear the emotion in Seans voice. Spectacle is the catchiest song on the album. and my personal favorite. The song starts off great and as soon as you start hearing it, you know this song will be good. Tomorrow is the worst song on this album. but its not really a bad song. it just seems like a filler song to me. Its a bridge from one great song to another. on again off again and Headlights are another one of my favorites. Headlights has a dark lyric in there when Sean says "hide all the Diamonds and cocaine" i wasn't expecting that from Sean, i liked it. I also love the clapping in sync with the song. Would i be the one is another amazing song as well. great violin playing. and an amazing guitar solo at the end. Falling out of love isn't necessarily my one of my favorites but its a great way to end the album.

So in conclusion This album is great, i recommend it to anyone. I hope to see more from Sean lennon as he has an act for making great music.

I may have to check this out. I admire his father's work very much I'm sure he inherited some of that talent.

Dead Meat is really good. album is pretty reminiscent of Elliott Smith's XO/Figure 8 sound at times
