Cheekily dubbed Snowplay for their likeness to both Snow Patrol & Coldplay, Irish quartet Kodaline should take such comparisons as a compliment. Their debut LP 'In a Perfect World' shows proficiency beyond their years, with 11 consistent tracks that utilize inspiring, anthemic hooks over mostly disconsolate lyrics. It's not exactly musically challenging & their influences are obvious, but the slow builds into arena-baiting crescendos are difficult to dislike. Best of all is Stephen Garrigan's touching falsetto, which - along with some impressive backing harmonies - is an instrument in itself. Recommended Tracks: High Hopes, Love Like This, Pray & All I Want.
