Altars are definatley the quiet achievers with a few good surprises to delight. Vocal variety has a place on this album, it's not there heaviest stuff even though present and songs are short with some good changes. it seems to be one of those albums that at times seems to loose it's attention to the ear but definatley has moments worthy of playtime.

"Something more" first song on the album opens up with a dodgy intro and you end up wondering the reason for it, at least most artist have an intro with a point, anyway quick to follow is vocal kickoff for the song, it's one of those songs that you need to play a few times to get used to the new altars influence. "question everything" my favorite song is heavier than "something more" and more to the point concerning metal to the ear, good sounding guitar and vocals strong and consistent. "eternity" good changes with heaviness that escalates accompanied by a softer vocal change that after a few listens seems to work. "sent to destroy" very good song and good vocal sharing, strong and straight to the point and great balance between metal riffs, vocal changes and melody changes." transparency" it's one of those songs that you listen to the album a few times then after you over play the best songs you end up going to that one for a few listens. "revolutions" it's the new style song for altars, it's almost a sing a long with me song, I guess you could say its a fitting change for a middle of the album song, but I can take it or leave it, cause I don't listen to "altars" for that style of song. "Caverns" this is where I think the album starts to get a little boring, it's a fair effort but nothing different to whats been previously stated but has moments of value. "break free" find it very repetitive and looses its appeal to me, maybe it should have been a shorter song. "westboro" boring and would have been better of not having it on the album. "to give" last song that proves the album at times looses its appeal to the listener.

Overall there is definatly good music played on this album, but would have far more enjoyed a more consistent metal that they played in " conclusions". In saying that I will enjoy parts of this album immensely, fair effort but was wishing a bit more oomph.

I really enjoyed their change in style here, clearly it's not fully realized but this band has promise

'but would have far more enjoyed a more consistent...'

It's a bit wordy, doesn't really read right imo.

Such a poorly, poorly written review. I had to read and re-read parts multiple times.

This album clearly went way over the review's head. It seems he is almost upset that the band did not go in a more generic metalcore direction, as if we didn't already have enough of those bands as is.

Ya we definitely need more pop punk/metalcore bands. That hasn't been done to death already.

It's True my review is not written well due to my intelligence, but it's just as true that the album does lack throughout. But like I

said there's really good parts, just not consistent, in my opinion.

Methinks I will write a review of this album. It deserves a little more than this, especially with the stylistic shift and progression they showed. Going the hardcore/post-hardcore route is great. And the variety on this album is awesome.

This band is pretty fantastic. I feel like they should blow up. They basically do what ADTR is trying to do except they're exceptionally better at it.
