Perhaps the most disrespectful album ever put out. These aren't even J Dilla tracks. They're
mainly unfinished beats that someone dug out of his computer hard drive. They're all
barebones that they hired some low name rappers to spit over to try and sell.
All you need to know how this album will sound and feel is to look at the album cover. I
have never seen such garbage in all my life. It's even worse in the memory of J Dilla, a man
known for his calming and nostalgia inducing beats. That's an eighth grader's first
photoshop job on the cover.
With all that said, it is true that some proceeds go to J Dilla's mom, Ma Dukes, who he was
very tight with. However, even in this case where the money is going to a good cause it's
just such a bad record and such a blatant money grab it's almost naseauting.
After this, Madlib's words don't seem crazy at all:
"I'm gonna burn down my studio before I die. Ain't nobody exploiting my shit. Don't think
I'm gonna get exploited like they're doing to Dilla."
