I feel the major problem with the second half is that it embodies the root of all that was wrong with Muse for the past two albums [2]

i found defector grating at first but it reminds me of old Muse, like pre-showbiz, and its grown on me a lot

the top 3 are pretty clear standouts tho

I finally listened to all of The Handler and it is pretty good, but I still hate the drums so much

Drones (first creative and inventive Muse song in fuckin years actually made me feel something which is a first since Soldier's Poem)

Reapers (fucking riffs hard)

The Handler (lyrics are grating like cheese but great musically, could slot right into BH&R)

Globalist (could've been better structured but musically it's just nice to hear them go hard again even if it's for like a minute, the Queen rip-off part isn't bad either)

Dead Inside (really actually grew on me, despised it when the single came out but its catchy af)

Psycho (lyrics make me want to die but nice groove even if it goes nowhere)

Defector (inoffensive af, barely remember it)

Aftermath (the shameless Floyd ripoff intro is the best part)

Mercy (no)

Revolt (oh god why)

Yeah. His lyrics were never great but they reached a whole new level of sucking around The Resistance. All I want from this band is one more album in which Bellamy just goes psycho on his guitar and shrieks in that high falsetto. Is that too much to ask?

Psycho, Revolt, Mercy are terrible. The rest is solid to great. I hated Defector, but after a couple of listens it's actually pretty good.
