Yeah I agree.... this just REALLY doesn't float my boat. Most overrated album of 2006. :P
wait that title could also go to AMOLAD

I saw these guys on the Gigantour and i was intrigued enough to buy this album. Ive only listened to it a few times, but theres parts that i really really like and others that ruin the album for me. Timeless Winter is probably my fav song off of here though.
I would suggest listening to Scar Symmetry if you want amazing guitar work and somethin like this that overall heavier

The lyrics and overall imagery is pretty lame with these guys, I'll give you that. Especially if you see their new video.

After another listen to this album it has started to grow on me and it cranks up Into Eternity a little higher on my favorite bands list.

Just got a message from an ex-Into Eternity vocalist. Thought I'd post it here:
I read your review, and I'm not stressing over the "nobody counts Dean Strenberg, seriously" part. There's a lot of stuff that the band probably doesn't even know as to why it didn't work out. I'm a guitarist who can sing a bit. When I got the invite to fill Chris Krall's spot I thought I'd give it a try. Turned out I should have stuck with guitar. I'm no Stu Block, but what I do with my band works.
Anyway, I recently got interviewed and they asked me about Into Eternity. Here's some insight on some of it. I hope it sheds some light on why I "don't count."
Q: You played with Into Eternity, is this correct?
Dean: I sang for them briefly in 2004. They needed a singer and remembered me from when we played with them in New York. I played ProgPower V and toured Europe with them. But that was only for a few months and we parted ways after that.
Q: Why did you quit Into Eternity? They're on Gigantour, do you regret leaving?
Dean: They're a great band, but the timing was really bad when I joined. Long story short, I have a chronic sleep disorder, which got so bad I started taking a medication just to sleep. I did this for two years. One week before I was supposed to meet Into Eternity, my Doctor left and was replaced with a new one. She cut me off my medication. So by the time I got to Canada, I was a mess. First impressions are the ones that stick, and the first thing they saw was some guy getting off a plane who couldn't even talk.
Later I found out that I'd been in withdrawal the whole time, but I didn't know it then, I just knew I felt like shit all the time. I could tell the guys were wondering what the hell was up with me. I pulled off the vocals pretty well during the tour, but I'm used to playing guitar and am not a born frontman. Plus they live in Saskatchewan, Canada and I live in New York, so I couldn't see how I'd be able to give them 100% without moving there. We all knew I wasn't the right guy, even though they left the door open for me. It was still a great experience in a lot of ways and I learned a lot in that short time about how much work and sacrifice you have to put into music to get anywhere. Now they have Stu Block and he's perfect for them, so it all worked out.
As for Gigantour, sure, I'd love to do that, but I'm happy for them and have no regrets.

I don't like how Into Eternity never has a steady line up. I just hope Roth and Block never leave the band. They're both so amazing.

does Stu do all the vocals? cause their are like 70637025 different vocal ranges on this album.

He does virtually all of them. I highlighted who does what in the review.
Stu is a really versatile vocalist, which allowed Tim Roth to only focus on harmonizing vocally.

wow. I wonder if he can do all of it live...
My Favorites are Timeless Winter and Out

I would highly doubt it, seeing as there are multiple times in the album where there are 3-part vocal harmonies.

Yeah, but the 3 part harmonies are done with Tim and whatever their bassist's name is. Tim's actually a fairly decent singer.

I'm going to give this another listen after I finish playing Burnt Offerings.
See if I can find anything to like, if not, prepare for a negative review.

the intro to the sample song reminds me of "the heart collector" by Nevermore, otherwise I don't think i would check this band out, but that guitar solo was purty good

this band is much better than Nevermore. That's not saying much but still.
