Don't know if I would call them top notch. Whole album was mediocre to me. They seemed like they were trying to go for the deep goth approach here, but IMO failed. No hooks, just song after song of alpha-wave inducing run-of-the-mill stuff.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from for sure.
Snow White Queen just sounds good and tells a pretty cool story. Like You has real, raw emotion and lyrics that are on par with the early songs. And Lithium was the only song that adequately pulled off the whole "epic" sound that the whole album seemed to be going for.

It drew me in much more than Fallen once it got going. The problem was, it got going around "Snow White Queen" for me. Then I started to feel the rest of the album.

Hmmm, this album has some good songs on it, but all too often it becomes mediocre with too much melody and not enough velocity to make evanescence a 'hard-hitting band' they are often referred to as. Overrated, but i still like it. Just not that much.

That was lame, like this band.

Fallen was their best but this sucks and so does their latest one

I thought that The Open Door was quite amazing, so I gave it a 5. My favorite album is Fallen, but The Open Door is wonderful to listen to.

I really enjoyed this album. I still listen to it. Fallen, I only really enjoyed the singles from it and the rest was pretty forgettable to me. Their last album was pretty good though.
