Don't worry your not a minority...I hate the whole band. Call me a sexist pig but I generally don't care for women singers (lol or alot of males for that matter). Though of course I make exceptions. I LOVE PJ Harvey to death and like Patti Smith too.

I've heard through this whole album once...
sorry, this just doesnt do it for me. maybe its just because i briefly listened to the whole thing once. there is 1 or 2 stand out songs, but the rest are pretty...well, not-so-interesting.
i actually prefer Fallen. but then again, i might listen to this for a few more before i actually rate it.

Fallen was decent. I'm doubting that this is as good, and I'm doubting this band will stay together much longer. I predict them falling apart pretty soon.
Oh and by the way, the vocal intro to "Call Me When You're Sober" is sick.

I really liked this album! However I do prefer the first album especially "My Immortal." (I like the version used on daredevil the best though)
This album, i liked! I love Good Enough. The depth and range of Amy Lee's voice is amazing!
I also like "Sweet Sacrifice" again her voice makes the song what it is!!
How do you mean "The voice intro on Call me when your sober is sick?" whats sick about it????This Message Edited On 09.29.06

I really like this album. Amy Lee is a lovely little musician with a wonderful voice and adds great atmosphere to the music. Who cares if the guitarists are sub-par, the music as a whole is still quite interesting and beautiful. In the end, isn't that all that really matters?

This album isn't bad, I just find it very boring. There's not much variety. There's no genuis in the music. There's barley any hooks. Amy Lee's lyrics are decent and her voice is spectacular but the rest of the band sounds like their asleep. There's a noticable absence of Ben Moody here. Origin is still their best album. Better than many albums out there, but there's nothing great here.

This is an excellent review, it is so good to read reviews from people who actually have musical knowledge.
I absolutely loved Fallen but to be honest I was not impressed by the first relase from this album 'Call me when your sober' I found it to be a bit repetitive and generally lacking something. Your reveiw has given me hope and I might just have to go out and get it.

I heard the single and thought it was fairly interesting. Although I found it even more interesting when I heard that the band and crew was trapped inside of the building when shooting the video due to an unrelated protest outside. Weird.
|

that is kinda wierd. i like the new single over any of their stuff on their last CD, though

I think Evanescence are the best and their music is acute. And, of course, Amy Lee is the beautiful woman I've ever seen. I could marry her ;-).She really is my Goddes.

I thought it was ok but after Lithium it just got abit boring.

And, of course, Amy Lee is the beautiful woman I've ever seen.
Maybe the hottest woman in rock business, damn right!
Oh wait, no she isn't, thats the girl from Die Happy.

I was wondering if someone could answer this question. I just saw that on billboard that The Open Door has already fallen to 30th on the list whereas Fallen didn't fall past the 20th mark for over 50 straight weeks. Does this mean that The Open Door, even with it debut at number one, hasn't done as well as Fallen?
|
| |
why the hell is this nu-metal shit listed as emo?

Someone changed it.

For me Evanescence's latest album '' The Open Door '' wasn't so good as I expected to be, I bought the album at the first days of it's release at cd stores but the only songs that I liked was '' Lithium '' and '' Call Me When You Are Sober ''. Maybe I am having this opinion because I compared their new album with their previous ( '' Fallen '' ), which was awesome, at my opinion. Their new video release of their song '' Lithium '' seems cool, as the one for '' Call Me When You Are Sober '' .

Call Me When You're Sober is a pretty sweet song. I hear on the radio like 4 times a day, but I never get tired of hearing it.
