This album makes me move in ways it really shouldn't. He has a kind of... sneer, I think (?) that is just incredible.

The Curse of Millhaven and Lovely Creature are fucking miraculous

It's really fun, but it doesn't replay quite as well as a bunch of his other records, feels like there's a little less substance.

Fucking relative as hell, of course

Nick Cave could become one of my favorite artists ever if something actually manages to top Skeleton Tree.

Tender Prey is just as good as Skeleton Tree if not better, but it's less instantaneous of an album

This is such a masterful record, top notch music and endlessly varied. Crow Jane is probably my least favorite, and it's still a great song with a cool story.

I'm probably biased though, given the massive nostalgia this has for me. Murder Ballads was the first Nick Cave CDI bought a longass time ago after hearing "Red Right Hand" on The X-Files. The lyrics here are incredible, my friend and I have spent many years laughing at those lines in Stagger Lee and O'Malley's Bar, good times.

well it's more a case of has Skeleton Tree, having been out for like 4 days, managed to top everything from one of the best discogs of all time? the answer is almost, but no

It means it’s all rich text and depth but it doesn’t cut to the bone.

Jesus.
