Not really. This is like Lynyrd Skynyrd + Black Sabbath with Anselmo Anselmo'ing hard on vocals. And somehow it fucking rules.

"isn't actually that bad" is quite the understatement

This is the greatest shit ever imo. (but I'm white trash so that's not saying a lot really)

I always wondered if that beeping sound they used in that song was sampled for a truck reversing

Yea it is, I might even slightly prefer it to NOLA as a whole. Which means I have to 5 it eventually considering the classic status of the debut.

this was a huge letdown for me after NOLA, at the time. I like it a lot more now, but NOLA is perfect. The guitar tone, riffs and vocal performance from Phil on NOLA are unmatched.

this has some straight jams though. DOG TIRED IN THE FAST LANE

Haha Aiwaz, totally love your passion for this one and NOLA. This was my fist Down experience which enabled me to listen to it unaffected by the debut. I needed more time for NOLA to kick in and think I still prefer this one by a narrow margin tbh.

This said, there's no other option for me than to elevate it to classic status.
