Varkatzas was an average singer and his screams were very shitty imitations of the screams of Tomas Lindberg ( the vocalist of at the gates),that's one of the reasons that this group is just above of very shitty metalcore acts like black veil brides or attack attack ,I prefer Chester's clean voice and his scream by far ( Obviously he has some flaws). By the way in nu metal there were acts with worse vocals and worse instrumentation than Linkin Park :Adema, Crossfade, Brougham ,Grinspoon, Papa Roach ,Limp Bizkit and Saliva are more painful and generic.

andcas i didn't like that at all. i was hoping it'd have a darker tone to it honestly because i feel like his voice fits that so well.

lol before the Curse they made some of the worst music ever. The Curse is like a 2.5 and the one after is a 3 or 3.5, but they basically stayed the course and just happened to become better musicians and songwriters. and then they started going with cheesy gimmick songs on Lead Sails that resembled nothing of their old style and musically inferior. I wasn't playing guitar back when it came out but I could still play one of the songs off that album. I forget which since it's been so long.

I mean it's basically atreyu without screaming and a more rock approach. I really enjoyed the whole album overall.

So it's Becoming the Bull radio edit. I've always like Brandon's voice though.

I think brandon works best in small doses, his voice gets old a bit too fast when he has to carry an entire song like in his new band
