Axl must be reincarnated! I saw some clips he sounded damn good as well as the band in general. Haven't seen them in 20 years

He does seem like he's giving it all he's got now, and I really like that. It puts the naysayers straight to bed and you can hear it. That guy could always sing his fucking ass off if he wanted to. When I saw him and I've seen a lot of frontmen he's top tier. Even watching him do the AC/DC gigs was spot on!

I've seen GnR twice (minus slh and co) and at what you will about the guy, he is a consummate and dedicate performer.

People seem to forget that GNR are actually really fucking good musicians. There's a reason why they were one of the biggest bands in the world.

they don't show it that much tho, at least not on their most well-known songs. i don't think they're famous for that, not even as a secondary reason

Slash was/is considered a guitar hero - to deny that is a bit silly

They were great, had the image, and played the right music at the right time. Slash? Dudes nasty!

great musicians agreed......songwriting kicks ass as well.......slash has some of the most tasteful solos

im not sure which guitarists of Avenged Sevenfold perform which solos in their songs, but they clearly follow slash's lead (again, no pun) and is one of the reasons they are enjoyable, for me

Influences are good to have, it's hard to be completely unique nowadays. I'd always say instead of ripping off one band rip off like 5 or 10 instead. Avenged keep their influences in check and add their own spin to it; it's cool and they do it well. People mistake being virtuosos with being able to play and write good songs. You need a little bit of both.. and GNR had both.. to what scale I don't know, but they were great at what they did.

The UYI albums get a lot of hate but it's hard to argue with Estranged and November Rain.
