I finally bumped this from a 3.5 to a 4.5, had to admit it was just really important at the time (it probably did two years as my favourite album aged nine and ten or something like that) and I've been playing 'It's So Easy' and 'My Michelle' to death recently.

The hits are overplayed but I'm overlooking that, victim of its own success factor.

I'm slowly ditching all my revisionist 'too cool for school' reevaluation ratings. Fuck it.

Will be 5'ing MJ 'Bad' next (I can't really do that).

yeah those are my favorite 5 songs on here present day......you cant deny Slash's solo in Sweet Child - am I tired of the song, sure, but only because I've heard it 1000 times......still love the climax of WTTJ as well.....only song I never liked as much as the masses is Paradise City

Waaaaat, Rose's range of vocals is Freddie Mercury level for punk/glam rock/metal

Axl having a bit of punk/snottiness in the mix is what instantly distanced this band from the hair metal everywhere at the time, so for that alone he's a great and unconventional vocalist

the man had serious issues when the band burnt out and 'The Chinese Democracy' was laughable - he lost his voice quite early, he can hardly sing now

Perhaps, but the presentation is really really unappealing

Even Elton John would have probably delivered those songs with a less campy and over egged veneer, so over produced and bloodless

Truly a man in a bubble poring over the same songs for 20 years to the point he no longer can see what worked better than what and in the end someone said 'enough, just release it you madman'
